“Hootie & the Blowfish flipped the conventional notion of college rock with a sunny, straightforward sound that connected '90s audiences weary of grunge's bleakness.”
Close your eyes and let lead vocalist Darius Rucker turn back time with his rich blues baritone, backed by persistently catchy compositions from Mark Bryan on guitar, Jim “Soni” Sonefeld on drums, and Dean Felber on bass. One of modern music’s quickest claims to fame, Hootie & The Blowfish conquered the airwaves of your teenage days with their infectious roots-inspired rock harmonies, securing more than 25 million record sales throughout the years. The forthcoming “Summer Camp with Trucks” concert will let you relive that carefree time through energetic live performances of the band’s classic tunes.
Of course, these will include songs from the GRAMMY Award-winning band’s 2x Diamond debut album, Cracked Rear View, which is also the 19th best-selling record of all time in US history, as well as their Billboard 200 chart-topper Fairweather Johnson and Platinum-certified Musical Chairs. Bob your head and swing to the rhythm of Hot 100 Top 10 tracks such as “Only Wanna Be with You,” “Hold My Hand,” and “Let Her Cry,” with possible features from Adult Alternative smash hits “I Will Wait” and “Old Man & Me.”
Blue-eyed soul singer Edwin McCain, popularly known for Billboard-breaking classics “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask for More,” will warm up the crowd with his romantic serenades dipped in an alluringly dreamy tenor. Meanwhile, alt-rock band Collective Soul will treat you with some of their multi-platinum #1 singles, which may include BMI Pop Award winners “December,” “Shine,” and “The World I Know.”
